Prayer for Charming the Plough
O Sacred Ones, hear our humble plea,
Gods of old, Ancestors, and Spirits of the land and tree,
We gather with reverence, under sky so vast and blue,
To seek your blessings as we charm our plough anew.
Mighty Gods, ancient and wise,
Guardians of the earth and the sprawling skies,
Lend us your strength, guide our hands through the soil,
Bless our endeavors, our soil, and our toil.
Ancestors, our cherished kin,
Whose wisdom whispers like the wind,
Stand with us, guide our plough’s steady path,
Protect our fields from harm and wrath.
Nature Spirits, life’s gentle keepers,
In you, the essence of the earth runs deeper,
Bless our seeds, our water, and our land,
Nurture our crops with your unseen hand.
As the plough breaks the earth, turning old to new,
We honor the cycle, the old ways, and the true,
May our fields be fertile, our harvests full and bright,
Under the sun by day, and the moon by night.
In gratitude, we offer our heartfelt thanks,
By the river’s bend and the forest’s ranks,
For the bounty to come, for the life that we share,
We charm our plough with love and care.
