Invocations

Sunna and the Land Wights

Sunna, radiant goddess of the day,
In your golden chariot, you make your way.
Your light is our guide, your warmth our stay,
On this Midsummer, to you, we pray.

Sunna, bright lady of the endless sky,
Your golden wheel turns, on high you fly,
In your light, our shadows lie,
On this Midsummer day, under your watchful eye.

Land wights, spirits of field and tree,
Guardians of the earth, of rock and sea.
On this longest day, to you we plea,
Bless our land with growth and glee.

Sunna, shine down on our humble home,
Across the fields where the land wights roam.
With gratitude, under your sky-dome,
On this Midsummer, blessings we comb.

From the mighty oak to the smallest stone,
To the land wights’ power, we have known.
Your blessings in every seed that’s sown,
On this Midsummer, your gifts are shown.

In the glow of the midday sun, we see,
The beauty of your harmony, Sunna, and the land wights’ decree,
May our land flourish, our spirits be free,
On this Midsummer, we honor thee.
